Pantheon of the Void

Beyond the domain of the Silent Gods—the Primeval deities who sacrificed their agency in the Great Severing—lie the entities of the Void. These forces represent the alien, entropic powers that exist outside the natural order of the Age of Star-Blood. While the Great Severing attempted to seal the world away from their gaze, the barrier was imperfect, allowing their influence to seep through cracks in reality, manifesting as madness, mutation, and forbidden knowledge.

The Bound and The Consuming Force

Primary Aspect: Entropy and Unmaking Mythos Origin: Azathoth

At the center of the Void sits Azathothos, The Blind Chaos. This entity is not merely a god of destruction but the ultimate engine of cosmic entropy. It is the singular reason the Primeval Gods initiated the Great Severing; its presence threatens the total unmaking of material existence.

While Azathothos sleeps, its imprisonment is fragile. The “whispers” of this entity bypass physical barriers, eroding the minds of those who listen. The House of the Iron Shroud has dedicated its existence to this threat, utilizing disciplined psionics to construct mental bulwarks against the Blind Chaos. To the Shroud, Azathothos is the inevitable end of all things, a fate that can only be delayed through iron will.

The Master of the Fallen Empire

Primary Aspect: Hubris and Manipulation Mythos Origin: Hastur

Known to scholars as The Yellow King or “Him Who Must Not Be Named,” this entity served as the silent patron of the ancient Aethosian civilization. It was his influence that stoked the fires of Elven greed and arrogance, driving their obsession with Magitek that eventually led to their collapse.

The Yellow King remains the direct source of the lingering madness found within the Taint Zones. Unlike the mindless hunger of Azathothos, The Yellow King desires worshippers. The Outcaste Cabals frequently risk their sanity searching for the “Uncorrupted Yellow Sign,” a ritual key they believe will allow them to harness his power without succumbing to his dominion.

The Deep, Dreamy Power

Primary Aspect: Submersion and Ruin Mythos Origin: Cthulhu, Dagon, Hydra

The oceans of the Age of Star-Blood conceal the wreckage of the Aethosian continent, now the domain of The Dreamer of Aethos. Trapped within the sunken dimensional geometry of R’lyeh, The Dreamer is the most potent physical threat remaining on the planet. His psychic emanations leak through ocean currents, resulting in sudden outbreaks of cult activity and madness along the coastlines.

Serving as the visible face of this horror are The Deep Patrons (Dagon and Hydra). These lesser powers preside over the mutated aquatic tribes that scavenge the submerged Elven cities. They guard the ruins of the Aetherium supply, ensuring that any salvage operation undertaken by surface dwellers becomes a descent into terror.

The Forces of Corrupting Life and Space

Primary Aspect: Mutation and Boundary Dissolution Mythos Origin: Yog-Sothoth, Shub-Niggurath

These entities represent the raw, fundamental forces of the alien universe scattered across the world.

  • The Gate (The Lurker at the Threshold): An omniscient force representing the boundary between realities. The Gate is not a ruler but a mechanism of the universe. All reality-bending magic technically channels energy through this entity. The Synod of the Cog, in their pursuit of advanced Magitek, may unknowingly be attempting to tap into The Gate’s infinite data, risking a catastrophic breach of the veil.

  • The Black Goat of the Woods: This force represents dark fertility and rampant biological mutation. Wherever the Aether-Blood flows in high concentrations, The Black Goat’s influence accelerates evolution into grotesque forms. It is the biological imperative behind the unnatural monstrosities roaming the wildlands, forcing nature to grow wrong.
